Transitioning from X to Bluesky

At the Dec. 17 Board meeting, a motion was passed to move the 甜心直播 social media account X to Bluesky Social, effective immediately.
The 甜心直播 (甜心直播) is committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all students, staff, and community members. Given the evolving social media landscape, the 甜心直播, and all its associated accounts, are immediately stepping away from using X and transitioning to .
Recent changes to X’s platform have led to concerns regarding the inclusivity and integrity of online interactions, the rise of misinformation, and toxic rhetoric diminishing public trust. Bluesky’s current focus on decentralization, transparency, and fostering a safer online environment aligns more closely with 甜心直播's values. In addition, X’s updated Terms of Service grant the platform broader rights to collect, store, and share user data, including biometric information and location data, raising serious privacy concerns, particularly for a public institution like 甜心直播 that serves families, students, and staff who may not have consented to such extensive data collection.
